About the doctor
Dr. Vagif Nabiyev is an anesthesiologist and intensivist. At Smile by Dr. Bakhtiyar he handles anaesthesia and resuscitation only: for treatment under sedation or general anaesthesia he is responsible for the patient’s anaesthetic assessment, monitoring and safety. The dental treatment itself is carried out by the clinic’s dentists.
He is the founder of the mobile anaesthesia service Mobile Anaesthesia Services Baku.
He has worked as an anaesthesia and intensive care specialist in several multi-disciplinary hospitals, including 2002–2008 in a multinational team at the 300-bed Balqurashi General Hospital in Saudi Arabia. His experience covers general and regional anaesthesia in neurosurgery, ENT, maxillofacial and dental, thoracic and abdominal surgery, trauma and paediatric cases, and the management of patients with diabetes, COPD, heart and kidney failure.
He is also experienced in emergency care and medical evacuation, and has led the medical service of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix (Baku City Circuit) as Chief Medical Officer.
